Twitter: Spags report Joseph cleared by police

Hey I’m curious, since nobody on this board posting as any idea of the actual facts in this case at this time, so all opinions are conjecture. Could it be true that he wasn’t cleared until recent. Could it have been that the police presented evidence to the prosecutor but he wasn’t positive that it was enough to get a conviction so he asked for a grand jury. After presenting to the jury they decided not to charge Joseph. This takes a little time.

Just saying that yes he could have JUST been cleared.

That's very likely the case.

To think that all the writers that cover the Cowboys just found out about Joseph supposedly being clear back in April (which is what he's claiming) is laughable.

What are the odds that Joseph is on this team in 12 months?

Probably the same as one of your friends jumping out of a car you're in and shooting someone to death.

He won't be suspended....yet.

You can expect the suspension during the regular season when half the secondary has injuries and the Cowboys are about to face a prolific passing offense.

Goodall thinks he has a sense of humor.

A NFL rookie is in a car when a man is gunned down by the other occupant(s) and he doesn't do anything until he is forced to and some think nothing is going to happen?

This has nothing to do with which team he is on, although he did drop because of questionable behavior. The word was out that Goodell's phone was blowing up from a lot of the owners about this.

He was not cleared, he was not charged. He was not guilty of the shooting but he became a witness to keep from being charged as an accomplice.

Do you really think the NFL is OK with this and is going to just let it slide?

Making this about Goodell is absurd. What this guy did was wrong.

confirmation bias? are you projecting? if you read my post i said it’s not about the criminal aspect. he witnessed a murder!

everything else you stated is a moot point since he eventually talked lol.
how can anyone know for sure he wasnt one of the shooters?

And I'm saying he has a right to remain silent under, like, a fundamental right to remain silent, for a reason.

You're obviously not grasping that. He may have violated some NFL rule by being in the car, and the league may suspend him.

But many people witness a murder. That's not a crime.

It's also not a crime to remain silent in order to not incriminate yourself, i.e., to some lessor charge than murder...

If witnessing a murder wasn't about the criminal aspect, what's it about?

He talked with his lawyer present like anyone who could be consistered a suspect would. He witnessed a shooting. He could have had no idea it was a murder. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. But my point all along was that he wasn't arrested with the others, which meant police cleared him in their minds.

If police had evidence on him to present to a grand jury, he would have been arrested with the others.

I’ll go one step further.

He deserves to be suspended. So when goodell inevitably does hand down the suspension I’m not going to complain about it.

So, yeah, something along these lines, if it happens.

I don't think you can let Watson play, though, and suspend Joseph at the same time.

If there was exculpatory evidence in Joseph's favor that showed his innocence, he probably wouldn't be able to show it to the league until after the trial for the two suspects is over.

That's not what I'm saying at all.

I'm saying that he was cleared by police a long time ago if you were paying attention to what the police were doing.

The media is just now reporting he was "cleared," likely because someone finally got off their fat butt during the offseason and decided the Joseph story was the best way to get clicks, because it's the offseason and it's dead.

How can anyone know for sure DandyDon52 wasn't one of the shooters?
Hey maybe I was on the grassy knoll, but I wasnt in that car!
My point is everyone is just assuming he wasn't a shooter. They also assume he didnt have a gun on him that nite.
Truth is only the guys in that car know who had a gun that nite, and who fired a gun.

So not accurate to assume he did or didnt, either one is possible.
His actions up until he was identified say alot about him, and it isnt good.
Just being there with guys carrying guns, says alot about him.

yeah, if ray and his friends would have been driving by and saw the clown man and his posse walking to their car and started shooting at them and the clown man was killed. I'd bet you guys would be protecting Ray. You were in the car Ray. Oh crap Ray, you just weren't good enough to play professional sports, too bad Ray. You are part of the assassination crew, go to jail do not pass go. cya
This is how it would be.
