He did a very good job in the series. Was used to him being more of a bumbling comedy type character from the Mummy Movies so this was a change, but he pulled it off without a problem.

Lawless is also back for the second season as she was not killed.

Best series on tv for sure. I would hope Lucretia gets back at Alythia for locking all the Romans in while the gladiators were running rampant.

I also hope to see Doctore taking on that really ugly champion that Spartacus beat.

From what I understand, this next series is supposed to pre-date the last one....so there would be no getting back at anyone for something that had not happened yet.

Yeah, pretty sure season two is a prequel to Blood and Sand.

When season 2 starts (the reasl season 2 not the Prequel), Lucretia will still be alive.

I hated yet loved her so much that I'm glad (yet pissed) she's back for the second season. Her "death" was freaking epic, but I had a feeling she would return. Anyway, can't wait for tonight. I had some going out plans, but decided to chill out and watch Spartacus and Fringe. Yeah, I have DVR but tonight will be awesome.

Four episodes in and I dare say this prequel is better than season 1.

Debauchery, orgies, intrigue, murder, damn it is good.

I love how you see Ashur slowly turning evil, why he hates Barca, Crixus Onomaeus and others.

It's not even close to being as good as the last series as of right now. It's ok though. Def good TV.

I'm enjoying it a lot as well. I understand filling in some of the social aspects but would appreciate more action in the arena.

I love the show. The only thing that bugs me is how they sometimes go into overdrive with a plot line buildup. Are they abnormally focusing on the friendship between two gladiators? Then one of them is about to die. Is someone preaching to a gladiator how he never takes any situation seriously? Then he's about to be put in an uncomfortable situation soon.

Since Doctore Onomaeus' wife Melitta fancies Gannicus, I figure there will be a fight between Doctore and Gannicus for her love.

She dies or gets killed somehow. This is the prequel of the show. In the first regular season show/season she is already dead but I don't think they ever said how. We also see the start of crixus and barcas friendship in this prequel that was so prevalent in the first season.

Well Gannicus either dies or gets shipped off somewhere because I don't even think he was mentioned in the next series.

I have to wonder if maybe he and Crixus fight and Crixus wins to become champion of Capua (sp?)

Also don't forget that Asher gets hurt by Crixus and if I recall it is in a match where Asher and Crixus are to be on the same side.

yeah I can see why they all hate Ashur and why he hates Barca.

The scene where he ate Barca's lovers pidgeons was classic.

well we found out last night, she was the unintended victim of Lucretia's murderous rampage against Battiatus Sr.

What Ashur did to the other Syrian was pure evil.
