I will admit that it took time for me to come around to this unit showing any type of risk. Dallas has had the most boring special teams play for as long as I can remember and it seems that we rarely ever see a decent play come from that unit.

I believe I have come around to the aggression of this unit. Obviously we have had some bad coaching decisions this season but I have come around to this unit as a whole. It is nice to have a special teams unit that’s attempting to make plays.

The special teams in general does seem to be more of a priority for this staff compared to recent memory. It’s the little things during a season like this. If we finish 3-13 but end the season playing good defense and good special teams...I’ll feel okay about next year.

I'm seeing improved energy being a factor in the ST improvements. There will still be some things left to attend to, though.

Yes it is better and more fun. I liked the pass across the field play, I had to look at it again to see if it went backwards, and it did.
That is the tricky part on throwing across the field like that.

I liked the blocked kicks and penetration by crawford, but on the last one, he rushed like the guy was kicking straight ahead, and he was kicking to the left, so
crawford could not block it even though he got thru again.
So they need to coach the guys up better on just how that balls trajectory will go, otherwise they will miss some they could have blocked, like this one.

Also I would think gregory would be the better choice, as he is taller and has longer arms??

I very much like the no-holds-barred approach of ST Coach John Fassel.
It's his philosophy & mission that the kick\return units become cohesive, which leads to them being successful in not just one play or game -but throughout the season.
Last Sunday was a case in point that he is tuned in to the condition of the Cowboys offense this season - starting QB out for the season, veteran backup sidelined indefinitely, replacements with no NFL game experience ; the coach understands he must help to create scoring opportunities ANY TIME throughout the course of each contest.

Im good with just some creativity, and that play throwing back to who was it,, Ced Wilson was inspiring.
Disclaimer..... without reviewing, because I am entirely to lazy and unmotivated, if Ced wasnt the guy in that play.. ahhh

/cedric was the one who threw the pass over to the other guy, which is smart , as he was a qb at one point in past.

That's what happens when you hire one of the best ST coaches in the league.

He probably had to go in the direction he went in, just to get through.

For over a decade Cowboys fans including many Zoners had no idea you can return the ball past the 25yd line.

I like Fassel’s mentality and mindset. Special Teams has flashed a few times this season, and looked like hot garbage a few times.

I believe things will continue to improve with a full offseason and a chance for Fassel to evaluate and implement his system more fully.

i think the ST coach is a genius.

he clearly knows what he’s doing.

if we only had a few more like him.

Whatevs. I just can't get past the coach looking like the son of Reverend Kane.
