getting Compensation Picks for the NFL's little episode mainly because these Teams can say it restricted them in Free Agency. I just don't see how a Judge would rule in favor of this when the NFL approved the contracts.

Is this your own speculation or did you read this somewhere?

And if there is any justice, they will take those picks from the Giants.

I definitely think we deserve the money back and comp pick(s).

We obviously can't reverse time and go back and get FAs that other teams were able to pick up a week or two ago.

I don't see how they can do anything else in order to compensate the loss

I would love to see that: doubtful, but you never know with an aribitrator. Give me a 2nd and a 3rd, (you cant get a number 1 pick in compensation draft picks that are awarded due to highest one ever awarded has been either a # 2 or # 3 pick) but if we can get a # 2 and # 3, maybe taking those picks away from giants and chargers for trying to push this through or taking their picks in the draft I would be happy. Only thing I worry about in that scenario is that the skins got stung for 36 million over 2 years. So, does that mean the skins get more compensation picks than we do? If that does, dont want that because that would help the process of skins rebuilding quickly.

But if we can get a # 2 and # 3 pick, and at same time, have giants and chargers # 2 and 3 picks taken away from them for pushing this through, I would be extremely happy, and give us our cap money back, plus interest. Say 25 % interest to more cap money in 2013 and 2012.

So, give us back 7.5 Million cap money this year, and 7.5 Million cap money next year, with either # 2 and # 3 compensation picks this year or # 3 and # 4 compensation picks, while at same time taking away picks from giants and chargers for starting this mess. That would shut up the giants and chargers for along time.

I hope the judge rules in our favor but against Wash. :laugh1:
Definitely. Best arbitrated determination possible:

1. The Cowboys get their $10 mil cap space be fully reinstated.
2. A formal, public apology to the Cowboys must be issued by Roger Goodell.
3. John Mara be required to literally kiss Jerry Jones' bare buttocks ... both cheeks.
4. The Cowboys $10 mil cap penalty be added onto the Commanders penalty ... just because.
5. The Cowboys be awarded the same $1.6 mil cap space bonus the rest of the NFL teams received.

How would this result be a bad thing? :)

I definitely think you have to give a pick of some sort. That 5 million would have prevented us from getting a player this year, of notable worth. Even giving us 5 million back this year, and 5 million next year doesn't undo the damage.

A 5 million a year player is AT LEAST a 2nd rounder.

Mara HAS to spend a weekend with Rowdy doing allllllll the things HE likes to do. :D

If that is the compensation that we get (which I would not be opposed to) then you would think that the Commanders would get a much, much better deal (something I would be opposed to). I do agree something needs to be done to rectify this.

my Speculation only and my thinking is this....if I were the Cowboys especially, it could have seriously kept us from landing a higher priced Free Agent and I would want a Compensatory selection in the 3rd or 4th Round. I'll tell you this too if I was Jerry Jones every chance I got I would look to burn Mara and the Giants because hes the TOOL that created the buzz !!!

The only thing I'll say the best you can get is a 3rd Round Picks regardless of the dollars and in fairness both Dallas and the Commanders should be given 3rd Round Choices !!!

This is going to arbitration, not before a court. An arbitor's ruling is legally binding but he/she is not a judge and has more leaway than a judge does in how they interpret facts and administer rulings. That can still be appealed, but only before another team of arbitors. Never will this go into the legal system because this is an internal NFL case and the CBA that all parties signed mandates that they handles these cases in arbitration, not the ourts.

The only compensation I want is the cap space back and a free pass to kick John Mara in the balls.

I accept this, but ONLY after JJ has eaten his fill of beefy bean burritos for #3.

They can refund the 5 mil on the next season's cap giving up an additional 5 mil to play with.

The down side is if Wash gets all that money refunded they can do some crazy things with the cap.

But this is what I expect to happen. I do not think they'll give us comp picks unless it is a compromise between league and teams before any ruling.

I fully expect we win this one. We followed the rules as written.

Anything can be taken to court, the plaintiffs just have to demonstrate that the agreement was a violation of labor law and challenge the legitimacy of the CBA. That could turn inot a real fecal tempest.
