"IF" the Colts win the Super Bowl....

on Thursday night.....

on NBC....

Cowboys at Colts......

Since the Super Bowl champion plays a home game on opening night!

This is pure speculation on my part and I do not know if it is going to happen....

Also, the Cowboys have began on the road the last two years (2008 @Browns, 2009 @Bucs).....so the NFL/Jerry Jones might not allow the Cowboys to play three straight opening road games....

Most of the time it seemed to be a rival in the Division or Conference. Or a rematch of one of the playoff teams. Who are the Colts opponents next year. Do they play the Jets by chance?

But that would be a very interesting draw for TV ratings. So a very good possiblity

Great.. so if that were to happen then we start the season out 0-1.

You won't see it for the same reason you didn't see Chargers-Cowboys on Thanksgiving. Why waste a jewel of a matchup on a night when everyone's gonna be watching anyway? Save it for a rainy day.

That's not how they look at this. In this spot they really want the best match up possible.

I'm guessing Dallas or SD.

1-0 sorry Joe_fan we'll beat Indy.
You're welcome to be a homer but I'll be a realist.

We're not going to beat them opening night, at their home, week 1.

It would be nice if we did, but I don't see it happening.

And yet I saw the Skins at the Giants to open the season just two short years ago.

And we won't close out Texas Stadium or beat 13-0 New Orleans in the Superdome or open our new stadium with losses either will we?

Any given Sunday........

I see it. I believe we matchup well with the Colts. No team has a clear advantage, beside in QBing in everyone who believes Peyton is the second coming of god's mind.

I heard the same thing last year when we openned our stadium, "nobody is going to beat us on openning night, at our home, week 1".

Funny how the Giants didnt get the memo that they were suppossed to lose.

EDIT******If we would have won that game, we would have been the #2 seed.

I think we start week 1 on the road against a decent opponent. Like, the Houston Texans. For the same reasons we did againt the Cleveland Browns in 2008 and Jacksonville Jaguars in 2006.

I believe we will get a home game to open the season this year. We've spent a lot of time on the road for opening kickoff as of late. We're due for a home game in week 1.

It must be remembered that the NFL has to schedule Cowboys games around Rangers games so they don’t conflict.

The Rangers are at home during week 1. So the Cowboys are likely to be on the road in week 1.
