Speculation: Dallas @ Seattle for Week 1

According to Norm Hitzges on The Ticket, a leak from a source at the NFL office has revealed it'll be Dallas at Seattle for the league opener.

Take that for what it's worth, but Norm isn't one to lie or make stuff up.

Seems an odd week to burn that matchup for the NFL. They'll rule that week no matter what, so why not put that game on a Sunday night against the World Series or something.

I assumed Seattle would be the opening Thursday night game against either the 49ers or the Broncos (since the NFC west plays the AFC west this season).

If its the Cowboys, then looks like we'll play that thursday. I like that because then we'll effectively have three byes this season.

He's such and idiot why pin your team with a weak defense and your QB coming off back surgery against one of if not the best defenses in football coming off a Super Bowl win on the road? The thought process makes zero sense. Outside of the "spotlight".

We have to play them at some point, why not week 1? I like our chances better early than later against them. They may still be in a hangover, we could be 100% healthy and/or Dallas plays pretty good opening up the season lately.

Might as well get it over with. It gives you plenty of time to recover. They should be fairly healthy and, who knows, maybe the new offensive wrinkles will give them some trouble and we make it close. That's better then them have 9 weeks of film to dissect.
