Someone earlier speculated that our offensive philosophy may be changing this year.

I have to agree. Assuming we keep Keyshawn (we'll find out in 30 minutes), and assuming we sign Terrell Owens. That would explain a few things

#1 Why we didn't resign Dan Campbell
#2 Why we aren't splurging on offensive line talent

With Terrell Owens, Keyshawn Johnson, and Terry Glenn on the field. You really aren't going to have to deal with a lot of blitzing. I mean who are you going to blitz? Blitzing will ensure that one of these great receiver is pretty much matched up on someone they can own.

I still think we'll sign a tackle (hopefully Tom Ashworth at this point, and if we really plan on replacing a Larry Allen, I hope we replace him with Stephen Neal).

3 wr set

Glenn -- Johnson -- Adams - Neal - Johnson - Rivera - Ashworth -- Owens

I think we may take a much more aggressive approach.

Yep and they cannot afford to bring 8 men in the box. JJ will have a good year.

I think Ashworth could be interesting at this point. Though he's not dominant, he is very versatile as he can play both RT and LT. It seems versatility as high priority right now at Valley Ranch.

I guess the question is how much do you pay for an "average" or "slightly above average" RT? It would have to be more than Kosier I'd think.

I don't think we're paying kosier a lot this year. I think we're paying him to be the future, and as versatile depth. I think people are looking too much into the signing bonus.

He got a 15 million dollar contract incluing the 1 million a year pro rated signing bonus.

So he has going to make on average 3 million a year. I assume its back loaded mostly in the last two years. If he isn't the player you think he is you cut him in the last two years, and you lose 2 million against the cap.

His salary is probably constructed somewhat like this

.5 - 1 - 2 - 3 - 3.5

Sorry, but the Steelers pressured and blitzed the pass happy Colts into submission. I don't care who we have at WR, if we do not get OL help, then Key, Terry, and possibly T.O. will not even have time to finish routes because Drew will be picking his butt up off the turf.

aaaaaah it's fun to dream, unfortunately I have a sneaking suspicion that we'll end up with a WR set of:

Glenn (until he's injured) - Crayton - Copper - 30 something retread

Fletch, the colts don't have a receiving corp as good as johnson, glenn, owens... not by a long shot...

I was thinking we go with more 2 WR sets with Witten swapping in and out between the slot and with a hand down. We pick up a legit blocking fullback, and let Julius reap the benefits of having a WR duo of Terry Glenn and Terrell Owens, with Patrick Crayton getting better and better all the time studying behind two veteran playmakers.
