I watched part of the game, and listened to part of it on the radio. I didn't pay particular attention to Spencer during the game, but the radio announcers seemed to imply that Spencer was a bit of a liability last night. Any informed opinions on the matter?

I'll be interested to see the all 22, but I watched him on a cpl of plays last night and he was ineffective. Saw him hop around blocks and take himself out of position

He got pinned to the inside by the tackle on several runs to his side in the first half, with the Giants going back to that play because it was working, but played better from there. He had several run stops at or near the line of scrimmage. Don't remember much pressure, though.

He was doing that when he was fully healthy, pre-injury.

Probably one of the worst things to do fundamentally. Its like a DB that gambles in the passing game, you will make plays but you will give them up also.

Was hoping he'd have something left in the tank, however, it starting to look like he is done.

It's sad that the only DE I trust is the 31-in-3-weeks-year-old Jeremy Mincey. Spencer looks done. Selvie is showing why he was a 7th round pick. And D-Law is looking like a rookie who needs time to develop. I like Mincey. He's the Doug Free of the defense. An older vet who plays consistent ball and gets no praise. He's a great guy to have on the team. Problem is he's the best lineman by a mile. You're in good shape if you have Doug Free on your line. You're in trouble if he's your best lineman.

He's getting paid very little. Awesome spelling BTW.
Oh that's good then, I was under the impression he was franchised still.

Yes it was awesome spelling, the wonders of auto spell check changing your spelling to what it wants. On that note; "it is a dull and uncreateve mind that cannot find more than one way to spell a word".

Yeah, Mincey doesn't bring a lot, and it's sad that he's our best player, but he leaves it all on the field. The guy plays hard.

The upcoming Draft and FA should be DEs CBs Situation pass rush LB

Still franchised? Yes. Many teams drop that tag on guys coming off micro fracture surgery

Our Dline is defiantly the weakest link on the team...

not really a news flash

No.

Actually the secondary is weaker.

Crawford
Mincey
Melton

Are all doing well this season.

Only one guy has underperformed– I won't mention his name.

The challenge is that there isn't a DE who has 8 sacks.

Secondary... especially CB has been worse.
