I just wanted to make a comment about Anthony Spencer.

From watching him these past 3 weeks I got to say he is much further along on the transition to linebacker from D End than Demarcus Ware was at this point.

Teams were having a little success running at Demarcus his rookie season until he got things straightened out. Spencer already plays the run pretty good.

Hes playing the run well and just doing everything really solid right now.

Just thought I would mention that.

Back to work :pc:

i agree....i like the fact that teams only have a chance to go up the middle on us...because the outside is on lock!

If Spencer keeps on his sack rate (counting the 2-pt.), he'd have 9 sacks in his rookie season (not counting his 2-pt.). He'll probably pick up the rate as the year goes on, so I'd assume he'll get 10+. That's a recipe for DROY. His biggest competition right now is probably LaMarr Woodley, who I would have been perfectly happy with us taking had we not made the trade back up with Philly.

Great observation

Spencer has done an excellent job and I expect him to shine more as time passes ......

He's also benefitting from more talent around him, and players who have spent 2 seasons in the 3-4 already, instead of a team full of new 3-4 players. Plays a different position than Ware, too, one that requires alot less thinking and more doing. We're all loving the bookends, though.

Getting very excited about how he is coming along. Perfect example of what to expect from Spencer and Ware came against the Bears. When Ware abused them in the first half, they rolled over constant double coverage his way. Spencer then stepped up with some good plays, including that Sack. If that can start becoming the norm, then Dallas will have finally hit a combo that can keep the pressure coming for the whole game. Man, can't wait for Ellis to come back so that they can have three fresh pass rushers from beginning to end of these games!

That's a possibility. It's all about stats. If he can keep up his pace on tackles, he might could do it.

But it's much more likely that someone with 10+ sacks gets it. 10 sacks is more impressive for most people than 100 tackles.

I hate to say it, but LaRon Landry has to be in the picture too.
Not really. Very few DBs ever win the award. The last safety was in 1990. It's usually either DEs or LBs. It all comes down to stats, and unless the DB has a high number of INTs, he's not going to be in contention.

If I am understanding you correctly, which is highly unlikely, I am guessing you are saying Anthony Henry should get more interceptions. Don't know why you made the statement considering the original post is about Spencer, Ware and sacks, Henry has none.

Then it kind of morphed into a DROY award, and I am not Adam or anything but I don't think he is eligible.
I'm sure he meant Anthony Spencer will get more sacks on Sunday. At least I think that's what he meant.
