Avril and Bennett for 12M? Sign Avril and still have 4M to sign a quality safety, guard or center if you dont franchise Spencer? He may be terrific with his hand on the ground but he may not. He is also approaching the age in which players like him start declining.

SF adds Boldin and what is essentially another first round pick. Now working on improving their lone weak spot in the secondary.

Seattle adds Harvin and two young DE

Philadelphia really improves

Atlanta adds Jackson to an already potent offense

This salary cap hell the genius Jerruh and Steven put the team in is beyond frustrating.

Forgot about Minn adding Jennings and a #1 pick

With 14 picks in the draft and not that many needs, I think the Niners end up trading up in the 1st round and drafting Vaccaro. Like you said, Safety is their only real need, and I think they like Vaccaro, so I think they'll move up and snag him. And they'd still have 11 or 12 picks left. Pretty crazy.

They obviously didn't like the options out there homie, so they tagged Spencer..
The league apparently didn't like the options available either.

Jerry has given Dallas fans a big football screen and comfortable seats for games. With a mall, night clubs, big screens outside. Oh and cant forget about the stripper girls up top. :)

Just thought id might want to push some of you over the top. One can only hope:D

Stop crying.

Every FA gets more than they deserve.

If each of these guys got $6 mill...what does that say about what they are really worth?

I actually will say it.

I think Spence could be DMVP next season.

I'm fine with it. He's our best player on D.

I assume we're going to complain about Spencer receiving the franchise tag all offseason since we have nothing better to do until Romo gets a new contract and we can complain about that.

That's all this board does ... complain. There's always something people are complaining about on this board.

Ironically, most of the complaining is done about the ones doing the complaining. Meta.

yeah you're right, there's nothing to complain about. all is fine in cowboy land. Winning is overrated anyways.

Never said all is fine in cowboy land. I just said all this board does is complain and everyone knows that's the truth.

Spencer would probably have been the prized pass rusher of the entire free agency class. We're paying Spencer 10m not because we want to pay him 10m or even because that's what it SHOULD cost, but because that's what you have to pay a guy when you franchise him two years in a row.

Our cap is a complete disaster right or it wouldn't seem that significant. I'm just weary of giving Spencer a long term deal. How many guys 30+ do we need to give these huge contracts to?

We are overpaying spencer, but he is far, far better of an overall player than Avril.
Whining for whining,s sake gets so old.

Good point. How many of these contracts have worked out well for older players? I can't really think of any that has payed off for the Cowboys.

Yeah but two for one does mean another warm body.

Complaining right now is natural. As it pains passionate fans to see their team drop from the quality of football they got use to in the 90's. Thankfully for me I was 10 at the time. Last year we were 31st in the league in running. That's what pains me. I'm actually excited and hopeful that the players released and acquired will lead to a playoff game win or two.
