If he gets some game four time (4th of five) then I'll be happy. He's going to be in shape to play ball. I suspect he had a look see and maybe a clean out.

Not worried about Spencer. He'll be there Week 1. The guy who concerns me is Ratliff. Sure, he may be back for Week 1, but is he really healthy enough to be an impact player or even a consistent starter throughout the season?

He was our defensive MVP last year. Get well soon.

My fear was Spencer wouldn't be 100% come week 1. Even if his leg fully heals, how will his cardio and stamina be out there early on?

Spencer will be fine, they just taking their time with him. He's a vet and no need to rush him back. Dude will be ready to roll come game 1 and so will Ratliff.

I think Spencer simply doesn't want to participate in training camp. So, I'm not worried about it. Particularly since I don't expect him to be a Cowboy after this season.

Maybe this is true but there is no point rushing him back if he is injured considering there is a huge drop off at his position. Use him wisely and let him walk after the season.

Not saying he's doing this or anything of the sort but some pro players have been known to milk their hurts. Needless to say, Spencer would never consider doing anything that underhanded, right? ~slapping myself~

I believe Spencer is trying to miss as much as training camp as possible, like many pros do around this time.

Well he's tagged, so an injury in camp would hurt his contract next year.

Nah if he performs come regular season, the preseason doesn't matter.

I wasn't expecting him back before the regular season anyway so this comes as no surprise. He will be fine, and doesn't want to do a Crawford before the season even starts. In a contract year, he is just being safe and there is nothing wrong with that especially when this team is considering letting him walk for nothing and not giving him any long term security at all.

I meant if he where to go out for the season due to an camp injury. He probably want to avoid that possibility as much as possible.

That is why i cant wait for him to walk next year we could have 2 OL for that 10mil a year or 1 for each line. 20mil over 2 years and he still looking out for himself give me 2 young guys that want to wear the Star.

I would do the same thing if I were him, no reason to risk you money going out on an injury in camp; flip-side is it he's playing hard in the regular season for next years contract, though.
