It seems clear that he is not playing like he did late in the season last year; and I think that is a big factor; that and the Rat not seeming to be able to get pressure up the middle again as he did late last season. It would seem that way, but I'm reserving judgment on ANY players until a new staff arrives. I keep going over this defense and thinking what a super 4-3 it would produce with just a tweak or 2.

He is getting some pressure on the qb, he is just a step late at getting to them. The more trouble problem with him is the jumping around blocks, last year he guessed right a lot on the jumps, but this year he is guessing wrong. He may have been scouted on this and backs are faking going one way hoping he jumps inside of a block then they go the other way.

Spencer is constantly getting pushed to the outside and over running the play. That's poor coaching right there.

Everybody was, because they became over-aggressive, and it is precisely the reason the Giants were successful in the delayed hand-offs no matter which way they ran. It was as if the line panicked trying desperately to make something happen.

I think all of this seems like symptoms of guys who simply did not take training camp seriously. Spencer was playing at Ware's level at the end of last season, and has been a virtual non-factor thusfar.

He'll probably start playing well soon since the games don't matter any longer.

The games don't matter anymore? Really? We have 10 games to go, who knows what could happen in those games. I hope the team doesn't think as you do... The games won't matter when we're eliminated, that hasn't happened with 10 left to play...
