I guess the question is if we don't cut Zeke are we willing to invest 20 plus million in 2 running backs. Zeke is due 15 million next year and I'd guess Pollard is going to want at least 10 million per year. This assume of course that Pollard has no issues with his recovery. I mean IMO Pollard earned a raise, but the reality is you are paying him for what believe he will produce for the next 3 years. Guess plan A might be the franchise tag for next year.

The Cowboys have to move on from Zeke and prepare themselves for life without Pollard. The 1st priority should be to shore up the OL. That in and of itself will help Dak and the running game. I like Davis and think he can be a really good complimentary back.

it would be idiotic for this team to keep Zeke, even with Zeke saying he will take less money. Zeke's carries (and attempted catches) are just negative plays at this point in his career. He's done. He was great pre-holdout, but now he's got too much mileage on his body and I think it's clear as day that he will never be a productive enough back in the NFL to warrant a roster spot on a team wanting to make a real run at a Championship.

Jerry is probably in tears somewhere over the idea of cutting the guy that held him hostage and severely underperformed his contract.

Blind loyalty, or maybe just pure blindness.

What a happy family you’ve created Jerry! It’s sad when they let you down isn’t it?

Pick up a solid running back in the mid-rounds. I'd be surprised if Pollard was here next season. I'd be disappointed if Zeke was. It's likely neither will.

I'm pretty sure Stephen would have Zeke assassinated if he won't reduce his cap hit.

Cut them both loose.

Kenneth Walker - second round
breece hall - second round
Dameon Pierce - 4th round
Tyler Allgeier- 5th round
Isiah Pacheco - 7th round
James Cook - 2nd round

No need to ever ever pay a running back. There are literally talented guys all though the draft

No way in hell am I franchising pollard. This is the case of paying good players great money. If the injury plays a role and I could get him back on a 1-2yr deal then fine. I still would rather have some young blood using a 2nd - 3rd round pic.

If Zeke is on the roster this coming season, regardless of salary, then I will be absolutely convinced he has pictures of Jerry with prostitutes, or something sordid along those lines.

Zeke needs to be cut post June 1st, eat the bitter salary cap hit and put a franchise tag on Pollard. We have Davis already and he showed enough this season to earn carries, maybe even be our #2 or #1B sharing carries with Pollard (#1A).

I would not. Not now. Pollard is probably ok but questionable and no to Zeke. Just draft some RB

It's idiotic to franchise a RB unless he was the next Smith, Sanders, Peterson, Campbell etc...

Pollard is a good back, who has never shouldered the load here. Leave it to the Cowboys to overrate his worth.
Zeke has 10.9mil in salary next year. They need to cut it in half or more to bother sticking with him as his dead cap if cut outright is 11.8mil, so if his cap hit dropped to 11.8mil(5mil cap cut) it wouldn't be terrible to lug him around one more year.

Pollard ain't worth big bucks if they are hellbent on keeping him here, hopefully it's a multiyear deal where his cap hit is low year 1.

The only way we win with Dak is have a solid running game.
Been saying this since last year when Dak played terrible vs the 49ers. Defense and running game...Dak is a bus driver with some good days.

Remember the formula? They always think Dak is this elite guy and screw the team. So, this off-season, same as last off-season...fix the run game and get more defense.

Tear it down. Both backs should be gone and see if you can dump Dak on a team that thinks its a quarterback away from the playoffs or a championship. This team has demonstrated these players aren't enough to get it done. Why stick with them?
