Jeff Fisher was up here at West Point last week, for some meetings. He came into the bar I go to, for a couple of days after the meetings. I asked him if it would get done and he thought it would get done June/July. He remembered everyone's names and told us some good stories. What a memory on him too.

Funny thing is, when he first walked in, I didn't recognize him and I said, "Anyone ever tell you, you look like NASCAR president, Mike Helton?" He said he didn't know who he was. A Special Op guy I know was talking with him and said, "This is Jeff Fisher". I blew it off, thinking he was joking, figuring why would an NFL rep be up here with talks going on? I took a second look and said "Holy ****, nice to meet you", lol. He said they were up here because someone he knew or was with, was an ex-West Pointer. I heard him mention something about golf and I just took up golf ( I have no idea why I would torture myself ) so I figured I'd talk to him about something other than football. He talked to me about 20 minutes, giving me tips on the swing and all. Real nice guy. I completely forgot to bust his nuts about the punting into the scoreboard thing. Ah well.

You did fine. Sometimes its nice to rub elbows with guys close to the game. Good for you.

I wonder how many here would still want Jeff over Red? Not me. I'm riding the Red Ball Express.:D

There is always next time. ;)

Did you see the "Rolling Thunder" ride through the point on Sunday?

Hmmmmmm..... I did not know this was a come out forum....

There is a nice golf course at West Point. The front nine you play just about every shot going up , dow or across the side of a hill. The back nine is a bit flatter but still in the hills.

At least I wasn't thinking Cowboys and said the blue ball express.

That's cool.

It's also funny when someone tells a fairly (and recognizable) famous person they look like someone else. lol I bet he was amused by that.
Sounds like he was a pretty cool guy.

I've never done this before but.......this thread title sucks. In the current state of football business this title is as misleading as one can get.

Big, fat BOOOOOO!!!

Now that you mention it. It really is a misleading title.
I'm sure it was harmless though.

Heard it, but I'm off the main road a bit in town. I've seen them come through over the years. T'was a late night for me to even be up and about. Used to see a lot of Vietnam vets. Hard to believe how many years have gone by since and how old they are now.

What was wrong with it? I asked him the question and he gave me his opinion and strongly believed it would get done by then. It was a bar and I had been drinking and a lot of music and talking going on as well, so some of his answer was foggy but thought he mentioned the pressure of getting FA deals done. I can imagine new stadium owners wanting to get it done quickly too. I told him that I was glad they relaxed a bit on the shot to the QB, as it didn't leave much room for touching him at all and he said that if it stayed in place, the only other shot to the QB would be the lower body half, leaving the knees more exposed.

In all fairness the title really is misleading bro since you really didn't discuss the lockout that much and spent the majority of the post on other things. I atleast thought you would drop more info than a single sentence concerning what everyone here is pretty much searching for info about.

Good for you for meeting Jeff Fisher though. :starspin
