I just received a copy of my Sporting News magazine and Dan Pompei gave the Cowboys a B and said that it was a pretty solid draft for them. Here is what he gave the rest of the teams if anybody cares:

A+ Packers

A Eagles and Cardinals

A- Saints and Ravens

B+ Bills, Browns, Jets, Raiders, Rams, 49ers

B Falcons, Panthers, Lions, Chiefs, Pats, Steelers, Chargers, Seahawks

C Bengals, Dolphins, Vikings, Titans, Commanders

D Broncos and Texans

I also wanted to thank everybody who post articles and re-cap radio interviews for those like me who can not hear them or read them because we are not in the Dallas area. Please keep them coming.

Gave the Bills a B+ I guess they didn't do so bad after all.

Actually, yes they did.

A small attempt at humor. I couldn't believe their draft. Kind of discounts our rating of B.

I kinda figured. Just goes to show draft grades given immediately after a draft are pretty meaningless for two reasons. One, players need 3 years to be properly evaluated. Two, teams draft certain players for a reason (ex. - Fasano) and most writers/reporters don't have a clue what the teams plans are.

I don't "get" the Bills earning a B+. Almost everyone with half-a-brain thought Marv Levy & co. were out of their minds with some of their choices.

A D for the Texans? ROFL!

Please. Yea they ignored Young and Bush to go with the bigger DE but their draft was steller overall.

Here's a letter from a Bills' fan that appeared in this morning's paper...

"What was Marv thinking on draft day?"

"I've watched (from a distance) for several months the moves Bills General Manager Marv Levy and his crew have made each time, thinking he can't top the last one. I didn't think anyone could best $10 million for Peerless Price.

Boy was I wrong.

Donte Witner was the first pick beats them all. Not only does Marvelous pass up Matt Leinart (Oh thats right, we don't need him after his brilliant QB signing of Craig Nall(, he does so for the third-rated safety in the draft.

What are these guys thinking?

The are driving the Bills' bus off a cliff and we're along for the ride.

Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad thing for Ralph (Wilson) to sell the team so we can get some fresh blood in there to turn this franchise around"

ya no kidding, i regard their draft as one of the absolute worst...not because of WHO they got but WHERE they got them.
Whitner at 8?!?! you've got to be kidding me....a fringe first round talent

As Cowboy fans, we've all seen what happens when you screw around with the draft, reach for guys and make stupid picks.

The Marv Levy-led Bills are headed for a famine.
