sweet, I'm glad he's getting the attention he deserves because without him we wouldn't be the #3 seed.

I think the SI Jinx used to apply to the Superbowl but that was broken by Emmitt Smith following the 1993 season when he was on the cover and Dallas still went on to win the Superbowl that week.

I wonder how many players who started the season as the third or fourth receiver have wound up on the cover of Sports Illustrated by the start of the playoffs? That’s the case for Miles Austin, who made the cover for the magazine’s playoff preview.

Austin has exploded onto the national scene after his 81-catch, 1,320-yard season that included 11 touchdowns. SI’s NFL writer Peter King wrote this on Austin in the latest issue:
Miles Austin: The Antidiva –
Buried on the Cowboys’ depth chart last season, Austin’s patience and devotion to practice paid off with a 10-catch, 250-yard tour de force in Week 5. Says Austin: “The more I thought about it, the more I thought I never really gave them the consistent product on every snap. Nine out of 10 plays, I put it all out there. I decided I’d never give them the chance to question anything about me again. Every time I ran a play, in practice or a game, even when I knew it wasn’t coming to me, I killed it out there. I tried to win every play. I still do.”
If you’re worried about the SI Cover Jinx becoming a problem, maybe you shouldn’t. Austin had no clue about such a jinx when asked about it Tuesday.“I don’t even know anything about that,” Austin said of the jinx. “Someone told me that earlier. But I don’t even know what that is. So, don’t tell me. I’d rather not know.”

I hope we're not jinxed! :(

Oh no.

Let's hope the SI Jinx is dead.

I hate this stuff.

Congrats to Austin, he deserves the recognition.

Without Austin this year, we probably are .500 or worse.

The cover jinx is for preseason when players do a photoshoot, usually, not a regular action shot.

Tony Romo was on the cover though, in that awkward face-shot of him wearing a helmet that seemingly had no pads or a chinstrap. I think he overcame that "jinx" just fine.
