Commanders head coach Joe Gibbs said Friday that defensive back Shawn Springs is in the team's plans for 2007.
It appears that if he stays and free agent Fred Smoot signs, Smoot will be the 'Skins' nickel, although Springs has reportedly been the subject of trade talks with Detroit and still could be released around June 1.

He is so OVERRATED!! He's NEVER lived up to his No. 1 draft status and now he's older and hurt all the time.. Springs, Rogers, and Smoot are all TOAST...

I'm not sure if his signing is a good thing at all. He was BURNT toast in Minn. and actually lost his starting job. Coming back to DC to a team with ABSOLUTELY zero pass rush, doesn't sound to good to me... Actually, I take that back, it sounds great...
