I think having Bruce Carter in there on 3rd down to help spy vick might be really important.

I feel we should be able to limit LeSean McCoy, but when things break down, we have to be able to stop vick. We're going to need a great day all around by our linebackers. Spencer and Ware are going to have to stay somewhat honest, and not over run this guy.

This seems like a classic Rob Ryan game. Avoid the deep ball, mix up your rushes, and confuse the QB.

I dont know how many picks they get, but I bet there are a ton of plays where Vick is watching the rush instead of the receivers and he will do it at times when they only bring 3.

Youre talking about the guy that hasn't even played a down yet?

Oh, I think Rob can definitely get in his head.

I'm betting our defensive coordinator had this game circled on his calendar right after Nnamdi signed in Philly and he made that "all hype team" comment.

That's what I was thinking.

Carter is the perfect guy to spy Vick. When he's ready to play. I don't know if he'll be ready for that so quickly.

Has RR ever faced Vick as a defensive coordinator? I'm just curious if he had success in keeping him from running.

Agreed with the other guys. You want a guy to spy Vick in his first EVER NFL action? Coming off an injury, no less.

The Eagles are the toughest Cowboys opponent, and to think otherwise is dangerous

Carter is the perfect guy and a great thought but it's way too early. I don't know how many of you have had a knee injury as an athlete but the psychological hurdles are harder than the physical.

It takes awhile to get doubts out of your head that the knee will hold when going all out. Don't need to be chasing Vick at the same time.

I'm always more worried about Vick running than I am throwing.

this....and he has a gun. alot of running around and then the bomb to desean or maclin.

spencer seems to play good vs the eagles though. (he was smacking vick around the last time we played them). Should see alot of butler sunday too (hopefully).

confuse Vick and keep him in the pocket

but I'm more concerned with our offense

I think the best way to stop vick is to blitz over and over again (while keeping contain), play both safeties deep, and leave the middle of the field wide open.

I don't think they do much "spying". I don't think the whole "spying" thing is that effective anyway. Why all of a sudden change up your defense in order to do the spy thing?

I think a lot of it is just linemen staying in their lanes and playing a lot of zone in order to have guys facing Vick, so when he takes off they see him. As opposed to man-to-man and having a bunch of defenders running around with their backs to Vick.

In his first game in the NFL after not playing football for over a year coming back from a blown out knee and you want him to spy the most dangerous running QB the game has ever seen? Are you insane? I like the spy idea, just not him.

Well, we have a very fast defense so we can probably contain him better than most. Everyone is flying to the ball to help out too. I think Vick will get some nice runs but hopefully we hit him for it and limit his passing.

I think it's harder for vick to throw way to the sideline especially with pressure. And he is better breaking containment to the outside...i say blitz heavy have the ends take a wide contained rush....and force vick to throw way to the sidelines under pressure.

So protect the middle....and make him throw it across his body at times. To get the Int.

I'm concerned about screens tho

Yeah, I can see that.

Vic's going to get yards on the ground. The question will be how much or how many.
