Cornerback Brandon Carr is finishing his second year in Dallas, and he knows what is coming this week for the Cowboys.
“I know you got some hot topics coming up,” he told reporters after Sunday’s brutal 37-36 loss to Green Bay.
It was part of his answer to, “What happened?”
“Any time you have a meltdown like that in the second half, on our end, you’re always asking what happened,” he said. “But we’ll know tomorrow watching film. But at the end of the day, man, you just have to find a way to win your matchup. You have to find a way to get the job done, whatever your duty is, you have to just find a way – scratch, claw. Pretty ugly, whatever the case may be, that’s where we’re at right now.”
He said from here, the Cowboys have to let the past go.
“Everything you have, for these last two weeks, pour it all into this team,” he said. “Everything that we’ve worked for from March into this point, it’s time for just guys to let everything go that’s been happening, stay out of the papers and all that good stuff, cause I know you got some hot topics coming up – appreciate it. But you know, we just got to stick together and fight through all this adversity, because winning cures all in this league, and we all know that.”
Carr said the Cowboys have a chance to do what they’re supposed to do over the next two weeks.
“If you take care of business these next two weeks and do what you’re supposed to do, then some of these storylines will change,” he said. “I don’t really have too much to say. And I don’t really want to talk because, like I said, it’s time to go back into grind mode and get this thing figured out. Had a good game plan. We executed the first half. Second half, it just a complete debacle. They took advantage of us. We couldn’t get off the field once again. So, have to take the positives from the first half, see what we did right. Take everything from the second half and try to iron those things out. Definitely not a time to panic. Like I said, the confidence has to still be there. The edge has to still be there, because we still have a chance to get into the big dance, and that’s what you play for.”
