Sean Lee had been the “bell cow” of the Cowboys defense this season. He entered Sunday’s game having a Pro Bowl season, with 112 tackles and four interceptions in the first nine games.
But the Cowboys had to make do without Lee for most of the night against the Saints as he watched the second half on the sideline in street clothes.

Lee pulled his left hamstring with 13:46 remaining in the second quarter. He left the game and did not return. Lee will undergo an MRI on Monday.

"Not being out there, I feel I’m letting people down, letting teammates down, letting the team down," Lee said. "Have to find a way -- I’ve talked about it before -- to stay on this football field. The only positive from a personal standpoint is I’ll be back from this. I’ll be healthy at some point pretty quick."

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he is "concerned."

Lee continues to hope for the best, while knowing he might be out for some length of time. The Cowboys do have a bye this week before traveling to play the Giants.

"I don’t know the severity," Lee said. "Obviously, it’s not good. So I've got to figure it out, do whatever I can to rehab and be back as fast as possible."
Lee, 27, has never played a full season. He missed two games in 2010 with a hamstring strain, one game in 2011 with a dislocated wrist and 10 games last season with a toe injury that required surgery.

"I don’t want to miss any games," Lee said. "I want to be out there as much as I can. But I try to do everything I can off the field to control it. It’s one of those deals where you have to find a way now to overcome it and come back. That’s the only thought is that I will be able to come back."

Justin Durant replaced Lee in the base defense before leaving with a hamstring injury. Ernie Sims, Kyle Bosworth and Cameron Lawrence were left to play alongside Bruce Carter.
