Dallas Cowboys guard Brian Waters is dealing with knee, rib and triceps injuries and won’t know the extent of them until Monday. That's when he's scheduled to undergo MRIs, but it’s not looking too promising for the 36-year-old who returned to football earlier this season after taking 2012 off.

Waters went down grabbing his left knee in the second quarter of the Cowboys-Lions game on Sunday afternoon. He returned for a couple series after his initial injury, but had more setbacks as the other injuries bothered him.

“We’ll have more information tomorrow,” Waters said. “Just trying to make it out of Detroit alive. That’s about it.”

Asked if returning worsened his injuries, Waters said: “I wouldn’t say that. Just other things popped up, so it was just best for me to get out of the game at that time.

“I’m not concerned about it right now. There’s nothing I can do about it today, so until I find out more information we’ll see what happens.”

Owner Jerry Jones said he felt Waters’ triceps and rib injuries were more significant than the knee.

As far as if Waters’ health was a concern when the team signed him considering the time off and his age when the team signed him, Jones said: “Not after we saw him. I saw how he had worked out, looked at his history and don’t think that’s nay more of an issue than you expected with any veteran player.”
