Everyone knows the Cowboys had the third-worst defense in NFL history last season.
But the offense had its faults, too, and tight end Jason Witten said one of them was the lack of effective play-action.
“Too many times, our play-action game, we needed to do better,” Witten said at his youth football camp in Grand Prairie over the weekend. “Too many times, we didn’t get the big chunks that we needed as an offense. That’s an area to focus on.”
Witten was answering a question about what area he and quarterback Tony Romo are working on this year for improvement.
“We always go back and watch every play together and evaluate that,” Witten said. “No matter what consistency you play at, there’s always areas to improve.”
