Tony Romo has never been to London. His first trip will be a business trip as the league announced Thursday the Cowboys will be part of the three-game international series in 2014, with a road game against the Jaguars.
“I think it’ll be great,” Romo said. “We’re very routine-oriented as football players, and any time you think about that, initially you don’t ever want to go too far, I guess you could say, but the experience of that and how the league is evolving is just part of what’s going to happen. I just think it’ll be a great experience for everyone involved.”
Bruce Carter, DeMarcus Ware and Sean Lee also said they have never been to London. They are looking forward to seeing Big Ben and Wembley Stadium.
"That will be great," Lee said. "I like to travel like that. I think it’ll be fun. I think some guys maybe see it as a negative, but I think it’ll be a great time and great to play football over there."
No one, even Jerry Jones, knows the logistics yet. Most teams have traveled to London on the Tuesday off day. The Steelers left after their Thursday practice for their game in September, getting to the UK two days before kickoff.
"Jerry Jones might get us a big private jet and might be able to take the whole team over there [on the private jet]," Ware said. "It might make it a little bit faster. I’m talking to you, Jerry. We might get out there a couple of days early. ...I think it’s going to be fun."
