IRVING -- DeMarcus Ware and Miles Austin were going through rehab drills at the beginning of practice Wednesday.

Ware, who has missed the past two games since injuring his thigh against the Commanders, and Austin (hamstring) were going through resistence exercises on the sideline.

Asked about Ware before practice, coach Jason Garrett said: "Hopefully we keep ramping it up. Hopefully it will be an extensive rehab day and we get him moving towards playing sooner rather than later."

Running back DeMarco Murray continued to practice with his pads and helmet, and Garrett said Murray is "absolutely" closer to returning. But Garrett stopped short of saying Murray would return against the Vikings.

Linebacker DeVonte Holloman (neck) was not practicing, but went through some conditioning drills without a helmet.

Safety Danny McCray (toe), cornerback Morris Claiborne (hamstring), guard Brian Waters (triceps/ ribs) and safety J.J. Wilcox (knee) were not at practice.
