The Cowboys are going to work out former Arizona Cardinals running back Ryan Williams, who missed his rookie season because of a knee injury.
Williams was a second-round pick of the Cardinals in 2011 out of Virginia Tech, where as a junior in 2009 he ran for 1,655 yards and 21 touchdowns. He also missed most of 2012 with a shoulder injury.
The Cowboys, who did not draft a running back, have veterans Lance Dunbar and Phillip Tanner backing up starter DeMarco Murray. They signed Ben Malena of Texas A&M and Glasco Martin of Baylor to participate in the rookie minicamp this week and invited Josh Harris of Wake Forest and Jyruss Edwards of Louisiana-Monroe as tryout players.
