Dan Bailey made five field goals. He wanted a sixth.

"It was a minute and a half left, and we had a chance to win the game," Bailey said. "So we’ve been in those situations before, and I had all the confidence in the world that we were going to go down and put the final points on the board, but sometimes it doesn’t work out your way. You’ve got to take it as it comes and move on."

Bailey went 5-for-5 on Sunday, making field goals of 47, 23, 43, 50 and 50. He tied the team record for 50-yarders in a game, which he now shares with Eddie Murray, who did it on Dec. 12, 1993, at Minnesota. He set a team record for 50-plus-yard field goals in a season, hitting his fifth and sixth of the year.

"Obviously, today points were at a premium," Bailey said. "It’s just too bad we didn’t have more than they did at the end of the day. Individual stats are kind of a non-issue for me today, especially with [two] games left in the season. It’s all about wins and losses, and we win and lose as a team. So we’ll just have to figure this one out and be ready next week."

Bailey had hoped for a shot at a game-winner. He already has eight of those in his career, the most in club history.

There would have been a good chance of a Cowboys' win if he had gotten a chance. He has not missed since Week 4 when he missed on a 56-yarder. He has made 16 in a row.

"I’m always confident I can go out there and knock it through," he said. "It’s good to string some together and get yourself in a groove. Consistency is the name of the game. I just try to approach every game and every kick the same. They’re all just as important as the next one."
