Coach Jason Garrett said DeMarcus Ware played four snaps in the preseason game against Oakland and “showed up on three of them.”
It was an impressive debut at defensive end for Ware in the 4-3 defense, and to him, felt very natural.
“It felt really comfortable,” Ware said. “I played it in college. Just reading the keys, figuring out how they’re going to attack you, what kind of plays you’re going to get – it’s a lot easier because you’re in the thick of things, in the trenches.”
Ware said he has felt good physically since the OTAs. “Clean and crisp” is how he described it.
He said he felt quicker as he played.
“You ask the fastest man in the world: Can you run faster out of a two-point stance or a three-point stance?” Ware said. “He comes out of the block in a three-point stance. So it felt a lot faster.”
