Hall of Famer Roger Staubach said Dez Bryant is the best receiver in the league if he is healthy. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Bryant certainly has the kind of talent to be in the conversation with the Larry Fitzgeralds, the Calvin Johnsons, the A.J. Greens, etc...
"I’m going to go out there and keep doing what I do, and that’s just play football," Bryant said of all the bouquets being thrown his way.
Bryant caught six passes for 54 yards and a touchdown against the Bengals on Saturday, giving him 13 catches for 183 yards and a touchdown in three preseason games.
"The sky’s the limit," Jones said. "That was a big-time corner, or a serious, credible corner that he beat out there, and that was nothing but being the better guy to get the ball. That’s rare."
The expectations are high for Bryant, 24, after what he did down the stretch last season. He had 50 receptions for 879 yards and 10 touchdowns in the second half of last season, scoring at least once in nine of the last 10 games.
"That’s fine," Bryant said. "I don’t look at pressure. I go out and play my game. I always got a high standard for myself. I think a lot of people do. If they don’t, it’s a problem. I always have a high standard for myself. That’s just how it goes. If I put up the numbers, I put them up."
