Irving _ Receiver Dez Bryant missed practiced on Wednesday as he remains troubled by a back injury that plagued the fourth quarter of Sunday's 17-16 loss to the Chiefs.
Coach Jason Garrett said Bryant's back was sore but had anticipated him "doing something" in practice.
Bryant, however, did nothing with the team and was relegated to very light and deliberate rehab work with one of the conditioning coaches.
"I'll be honest about," Bryant said after practice. I'm a little sore."
Asked if he would play against the Rams Sunday, Bryant responded incredulously.
"Come on man, what can of question is that? You know I'm going to be out there," Bryant said as he walked away.
Bryant said he would talk in more detail with the media on Thursday but didn't comment on whether he practice with the team.
The Cowboys say they are not concerned about any long terms issues with Bryant's back but it must be noted that he was sidelined in the season final last year against the Commanders with back spasms after it locked up on him similar to what happened against the Chiefs.
Certainly, Bryant would be the focal point for Cowboys pass offense looking to exploit a Rams secondary that is allowing 330.5 passing yards per game. Atlanta's Julio Jones, a big, fast and athletic receiver in the mold of Bryant, burned the Rams for 11 catches for 185 yards and a touchdown last Sunday.
