Defensive end Edgar Jones said he will play Sunday and just in time. The Cowboys could use the pass-rushing help.

Dallas had no sacks and 16 pressures against the Raiders and one sack and three pressures against the Bears.

"I feel like I can help out," Jones said. "They brought me here for a reason, and I definitely feel like I can help out. I can bring pressure out there and help with getting a pass rush. But right now, I’m just taking it one day at a time. Today was just that day to get back out there and get the blood flowing, and I felt pretty good. I felt back to myself. So the more I go out there with the helmet on, running on a little bit more, I’m looking forward to being out there Sunday."

Jones returned to practice Wednesday, activated from the injured reserve/designated to return list. The Cowboys will have to make a roster move Friday or Saturday to get him on the 53-player roster for Sunday's game.

Jones, whom the Cowboys received in an Aug. 31 trade with the Chiefs, had sports hernia surgery Oct. 18.

"It’s just been a long road with the injury and stuff, and that being really my first injury and having surgery," Jones said. "But God has been good to me. I’m blessed to get back out on the field. It just felt good to be out there with my teammates running around."

Jones played in the first four games, but he took only four snaps in the first two games while learning the defense. He played 62 snaps in Weeks 3-4. Jones has five tackles and three quarterback pressures.

"I’m back at 100 percent," he said. "I felt like at the end of the day, no one can know you better than you know yourself. I feel like I’m definitely back to Edgar. When I had the injury, I knew I wasn’t ready to play. I knew I was really hurt. Now, I feel back to myself."
