Cowboys coach Jason Jason Garrett said guard Brian Waters has taken some reps with the first team this week in practice but no determination has been made on his role for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
The Cowboys are still trying to see how much Waters, who signed with the Cowboys last Tuesday and has not played a game since 2011, can do.
He acknowledged he will travel with the team to Kansas City this weekend but said his status may come down to a game time decision.
Garrett acknowledges that if Waters does play it could be in a platoon with guard Mackenzy Bernadeau, though no decision has been made if he would start or come off the bench.
