Defensive tackle Jason Hatcher said he has no experience with stingers, so he doesn’t know what to expect or if he’ll be able to play Sunday against the Saints.
“This thing is kind of stressful,” he said. “I lost all the strength in my arm.”
Hatcher went out in the fourth quarter last week against the Vikings. He did not practice Wednesday.
He said he has talked to DeMarcus Ware, who frequently suffers stingers, about the injury but that their stingers are not very similar because Ware never lost the strength in his arm.
“I’ve been Google-ing and all that stuff on the Internet, trying to learn it as much as I can, because it’s unfamiliar to me,” Hatcher said. “I’ve never experienced anything like this, not being able to control my arm. It’s very frustrating, so I’m just trying to be as positive as I can, just looking forward to just approaching it like I’m playing.
“Hopefully this nerve will get un-pissed-off and give me my arm back by Sunday.”
If Hatcher, the Cowboys' sack leader, can’t play, Drake Nevis will start in his place. Nevis, signed on Sept. 24, has nine tackles and no sacks.
