The Cowboys' official practice report lists eight players on it. Receiver Miles Austin (hamstring) was among three players who did not participate. It is the second consecutive week Austin has been out. He did not play in the Chargers game.
But Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Austin has made progress. The Cowboys could use him Sunday against the Broncos.
"Miles is a good player," Garrett said Wednesday. "He’s off to a really good start, and he’s been as healthy as he’s been the last couple of years, up until hurting the hamstring and being out last week. He’s made a lot of plays for us –- underneath plays, a couple of plays down the field. So certainly a good player who starts has a big role on our team for a reason. But again, that injury provides opportunities for other guys."
Starting linebacker Justin Durant (groin) and starting defensive end George Selvie (concussion) also missed practice. Defensive end Edgar Jones (groin) was limited.
Defensive end DeMarcus Ware (back) fully participated as did cornerback Morris Claiborne (shoulder), receiver Dwayne Harris (hip) and lienbacker Bruce Carter(foot).
