ARLINGTON -- If there's one attribute Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Jason Hatcher is great at, it's putting the past behind him.
So when a discussion with reporters after Sunday's 31-7 win over the St. Louis Rams turned to the New York Giants and Washington Commanders both owning 0-3 records, Hatcher reached for a historic perspective to make his point.
"Just because you were great last year doesn't mean you’re going to be great this year,'' Hatcher said. "You’ve got to keep grinding.
"You never know what team is going to get hot and what team is going to win the Super Bowl.''
Hatcher then paused and took a shot at the two-time NBA champion Miami Heat and the rest of the teams in the NBA.
"That’s what’s so great about this game,'' Hatcher said of the NFL. "You can’t buy a Super Bowl.
"In basketball you can buy a championship. You can’t buy a Super Bowl. That’s what I love about it.''
