There is no question that Texas receiver and 2012 Olympian Marquise Goodwin is fast. He continued to prove that point by clocking the fastest time at the NFL Scouting combine in the 40-yard dash of 4.27 seconds.

But after splitting his time at Texas between track and football, Goodwin has been on a mission to prove NFL teams and scouts before upcoming the NFL draft that he is more than just guy track speed, but a complete football player.

I would take him in the 4th round to compete for a spot.. Dallas needs a pure speed WR who get deep in a hurry.

How many here believe that he can play on the outside?

At 5-9, 183 many project him to the slot only; however, I think that he could take snaps on the outside. Maybe not full time on the outside, but if they single cover him he will eventually blow by a DB and get open to the point that size really won't matter. If they double cover him it will open things up for everybody else.

He could play on the outside but he's probably better suited to the slot. I'll tell you this, from the outside, any kind of inside slant he's going to run away from the coverage in nothing flat. You could not cover him singled up on that route. You would have to go zone, which makes Witten, Dez and Miles that much more dangerous, to say nothing of a back out of the backfield.

He will be a better pro player than college player...Would to get him at 4, but I think he'll go higher

Rather have Marcus Wheaton who they already had come by VR. Has more a Mike Wallace/Terry Glenn element.

I like Wheaton but he's not fast like Goodwin. He's 'just' ordinarily fast. Goodwin is just not the route runner Wheaton is and I doubt he has Wheaton's hands either.

If he can run a few routes and catch the ball at full tilt then he can play for me. That's the kind of speed that changes games. Like ABQ stated, he will command some special D or at least get a big cushion from the corners and a deep S or two. He'll be able to play some on the outside. I don't think they would bump and man up on him.

I see Wheaton in the second and Goodwin in the 2-4.

UT isn't known for developing wide receivers. I wouldn't take him before the 5th.
