Cornerback Morris Claiborne said he had a “very hard” day after the Chargers picked on his side of the field.

“They were just throwing it to the spots that weren’t covered,” he said. “They made plays. We didn’t. It was a very hard day. Any time you give up that many catches, it’s a hard day. But all you can do is keep playing, keep playing the coverage.”

Claiborne said his shoulder wasn’t on his mind and that his confidence is still up.

“They hit a couple of plays all over the field, but obviously they found more over there on the right side,” he said, and accepted blame. “Any time they’re throwing to a side, you guys are going to say that’s Mo’s side, anyway. They hit the passes over there, so why not take it?”

Asked if he believes quarterbacks are or will start targeting him, he said, “I don’t know. I can’t answer that. I’ll tell you next week.”

Claiborne, taken with the No. 6 pick in the 2012 draft after the Cowboys moved up for him, has only one interception in 19 games.

Asked about pressure on him, he said, “I’m putting pressure on myself to be the best player I can be. I’m not worried about nobody else that came before me. I’m worrying about myself. I’m worried about making plays myself.”
