The Cowboys suffered another setback on Thursday when rookie safety J.J. Wilcox sprained his right knee in practice and will certainly miss Sunday’s game against the Lions if not longer, per a source.
Wilcox will likely be replaced in the starting lineup by either rookie Jeff Heath or veteran Danny McCray. It’s a huge setback because Wilcox was coming off his best game of the season against the Eagles last Sunday since being incerted in the starting lineup five weeks ago was being counted on to help slow down the Lions passing game which features game breaking receiver Calvin Johnson and tight ends Brandon Pettigrew and Joseph Fauria.
