Ummmm...maybe because you have about 1.5 seconds to get into position to block one, and the kickers get the ball up much higher than they used to, not to mention the rules that prohibit going over the center at all, and teams have learned not to allow a speed guy to get the corner cleanly. But I'm just spit-balling here.
