Stadium Noise

I know the uninformed probably will state they weren't watching but for those of us watching tonight's Packers/Saints game we heard alot of crowd noise by the home fans while the Packers were on offense. The noise was at its loudest with the Packers facing a 3rd down inside the Saints 10, just before the TD pass.

So maybe we can stop the stupidity about our fans making noise at the wrong time. Even the can-do-no-wrong Lambeau crowd yells when the football royalty say they shouldn't.

On television, they can turn up and turn down crowd noise by turning a knob. The sound you're getting from the crowd isn't coming from the mic that the commentators are speaking into.

Wow..

i think its fairly common for the crowd at ANY stadium to be loud when their team is on offense.
the crowd is excited because their team is about to score, or they need to score or it may be that the majority of people just get more excited about offense than they do defense.

i am not saying its good or right, just my observation at football games.

Been to a few home games, not much noise at all - on either side of the ball, as I recall. New stadium might be different though.

They must turn the volume down when they show our home games :laugh2:

You're one of those people that's going nuts on O, aren't you?

And no it's not what you are supposed to do, hence the QB and WRs normally waving their arms trying to quiet you.

I all the games I go to, I always come home with no voice. I yell on defense and observe on offense. But if the guy next to me wants to do the opposite I couldn't care less. Like me, he's spent hundreds to watch his favorite team and he owns the space in that seat. So for the self righteous to exclaim that cheering can only be done in certain situations is ridiculous. The point of my original post is all teams fans do it and we should all move on from these baseless claims that fans are less than you if they don't cheer or make noise when you do.

The difference between Green Bay and Dallas is that the fans are just as loud when the Packers are on difference. The Cowboys offense has more trouble communicating at home than the visitors....that's the issue. Not the fact that they cheer for the offense :laugh2:

Why wow? It's what happens.

Dad was at the Tennessee preseason game last year and I couldn't hear him on his cell phone that has noise reduction software installed so he can walk through our steel fabrication shops while on it.

On TV it sounded fairly quiet.

I have never thought of this.

In theory, you could make the game more entertaining by blaring crowd noise into people's homes to make it seem like everyone at the game is more into it.

If someone in the TV corporate world is thinking, they'd allow that sort of control via the end user's TV. Kill the crowd noise if your team is on the road, blare it if you're playing at home. Home, away, or TV personality commentary as options as well. I'd much rather have the Cowboys selected broadcasters over most of the TV twerps.

Over the years Fox has been notorious for doing this.

What if Romo needs to change the play at the LOS due to a defense he reads but cant because the home crowd is too loud on Offense? The OP has no clue how this hurts the team. Also too much noise can also cause false starts by the Oline not hearing the snap counts. Its not about being opinionated it is fact. Your way of thinking hurts the team and it is wrong period. Use common sense.

Obviously being loud when the QB is trying to call signals can be a detriment, but does anyone really expect the crowd isn't going to be excited during a key play at a key moment?
