I am from Houston and was @ the game yesterday. Why were the video boards on the outside not on? I was hearing that the city said no. Is that true?

thanks

I read somewhere that it had to do with them not being very visible and that it just wasn't worth the cost.

Jerry said the lighting just wasn't good enough in the daytime. So they scrapped the idea.

They should have realized this before they put up two giant squares on the side of the building.

They did not want the one facingRandoll Mill to be distracting to the drivers. The one on the opposite side not sure. Maybe it would cause to much people coming around and standing around, tailgating causing traffic problems with people being too close to the road for the parking lots.

I don't buy it was because they weren't very visible. I've seen plenty of smaller video boards outside and were easily viewable... I think it had to do with some cost cutting as the build price was getting higher becasue of the economy..

I bet they will be working when the SB is played there.

I just can't see that. They spent 1.2 billion dollars on that thing. Those video boards would have been a drop in a very large lake.
