It's another reason why I think Ezekiel Elliott really takes pressure off here. The more we run the ball, the healthier we can keep Romo and the less hits he will be subject to.

If Elliott can have a strong year, I think Romo and as a result Bryant also have strong years. So much we can do with these three going forward, especially with this offensive line. The defense won't be elite this year, but over the course of the next two to three years it will get there. You add in a Jaylon Smith, you get the desired production out of Gregory and he stays out of trouble... and that defense will get there a lot quicker.

I take it as meaning that their backups are terrible and need to be upgraded.

I'm not upset at this past year because opportunity never met need. There were no WR/QB on the market that were efficient in the draft or FA after all the reaches in the first two rounds and Fitzpatrick decided he wanted 8 figures.

That's a pretty lame and inconclusive stat if you go the last two seasons. Quite frankly, Romo and Dez shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence when it comes to who is more important to the overall success of the team. Romo was Romo before Dez ever stepped foot in Dallas.

The bottom line is that without Romo they have been terrible, whether they have Dez or not.

One of your best posts yet. I agree entirely.

Not only that, Ezekiel Elliott entering his prime with Dez in his prime will make the possible transition to a young quarterback much easier. However, here's to hoping the addition of Zeke with this offensive line has Romo playing at a high level until he's 40.

It's harder to win without one of the best qb and wr combos in football?

Tell me more.

Need a larger sample size from 2015 to be taken serious. Had they played and been successful in 6 to 12 games(2015), then this might mean something.

All you have here is a 12-4 season one year and 2 or 3 games the next.

This is nothing more than basketball season is over lets throw a meaningless Cowboy stat to get the Cowboy haters riled up.

And no disrespect to Dez, but we can survive games without him. It's Romo who has to stay healthy.

And why did they only use the last two years? Those guys have been together for 5 years now. I guess it doesnt suit their agenda.

Over the course of the next two or three years it MIGHT get there. WILL indicates you have confidence that is completely unfounded. Since we have been trying to fix the defense for what 15 years now with little success?

In 2 or 3 years is definitely a possibility of you draft properly and do everything right. And then Romo will be 39 and all used up? Ok, so then we are back to square one of the QB journey. See the problem here?

Again ......... "cowboy"roy attacks a positive post about the team and its two best players ....... shocking.
