Stallworth to Browns

It is not a great signing, but it is a good one. The Browns are definitely going in the right direction.

I still don't think getting rid of Leigh Bodden was a good move for them.

Their pass defense wasn't very good to begin with last year and they trade their #1 CB?

Wow, the Browns are making some good moves.

But they are also using valuable draft picks to pick up the players. (not including Stallworth, of course)

They can have him.

:hammer:

Never been impressed with him either. You had a team in the Eagles that needed WR help and let him go now the Pats, looking at loosing Moss, want no part of him either.

Who'd they trade Bodden to, and what did they get?

Stallworth To The Browns

On the first day of NFL free agency, the Cleveland Browns first locked up quarterback Derek Anderson with a three-year deal.
On Saturday, they gave him a new target to pass to.

According to a source, Donte' Stallworth, who played last season with the New England Patriots, agreed to terms on a contract with the Browns. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Stallworth caught 46 passes for 697 yards and three touchdowns as part of a receving corps that included Wes Welker and Pro Bowler Randy Moss. Stallworth's best overall season was in 2005 when he caught 70 passes for 945 yards and seven touchdowns as a member of the New Orleans Saints.

All the teams we play next year are adding players.

That cleveland game in cleveland is going to be difficult and the atmosphere will be similar to the one in buffalo, in fact I wouldnt be suprised if cleveland hosts us on a sunday or monday night.

Yeah really, aside from speed he's nothing special. Sure does bounce around a bunch...

Happens every year. It's the nature of free agency

and FWIW, I fail to see what major moves the Giants, Commanders, Steelers Bengals are making anyway.

This does make me question whether Moss will really leave the Pats. Are they really willing to go with Welker and Gaffney as their wrs next year?

They've already got a bunch of young, highly-drafted players on the team from sucking for so long. They're bringing in vets with those picks now. Can't really knock em for that.

The core of their team is very young.

But they don't have any picks in Round 1, 2, or 3, is that correct?

I don't think that's the way to build a winner.

... They won 10 games last season.

Yhea, I know.

But I think this "marginal" FA class is going to be their draft. :laugh2:

I don't know, maybe I just so used to the Browns sucking.

Browns GM Phil Savage is a genius when it comes to finding then drafting late round sleepers. He knows what he's doing and has a plan.
