Stanback..

he is what he is - a project with some great physical skills.

if he can't show something this preseason, he is done. I do however, recall how great he looked with the ball in college and can't help but think he'd be a threat in a gadget set.

This guy really needs to step it up. Period! This is his shining moment. He needs to show that he can be durable in camp, in pre-season, and into the regular season. He can open up so much for this offense with that blazing speed! This guy is very talented...

Please Isiah, if you're out there do it for me... Stay in on piece bro.

do i hear a 2nd for stanback as our newest whippin boy?

I hope we draft a solid prospect at WR to push Stanback.

I still have hope but I need to see something in preseason THIS year or else I'm ready to move on.

Isn't he dreamy? I'd love to have Brian Robiskie here.

But chances are we'll take the Cowboy approach to adding WR's, either trade for one, sign one in FA next year, or draft one in the 7th round unless he's a former QB, then we may draft him in the 4th.

you kinda want your cake and eat it too doncha?

we got TO as a FA, right? so it can't be a faulted premise you can find talent there.

while TO was on the team did we *need* to draft a wr? we had so much promise, right? suddenly w/TO gone we suck at the position. now w/TO gone the burden will fall to williams and austin. we've got one of the best #3 wr's in crayton despite where we got him and then hurd isn't too shabby.

if you step back and look objectively at where our holes are - is wr on the top?

i think so. i hope we put an emphasis on it and use our plethroa of picks to trade up and get a bonafied shot at a good one.

the way you seem to feel now w/TO cut, many of us felt when he was signed. i feel your pain, but i learned to live with him on the team as you'll learn to live with him off.

Pretty sure Stanback is a hell of a lot faster than 4.5+
In fact he's one of the fastest on the team.

AND- He has something many obviously don't. HEART. Maybe that's why those who know have been patient with him transitioning position.

I hope Jerry doesn't try to get cute in the draft anymore. So far he's the Barbie Carpenter of the offense.

His time may be up. A team can develop a player for just so long.
Dallas will have to go to the draft early to get a blue-chip at WR to groom. And this, hopefully, will give Hurd and Miles big time parts in the offense.
I already like R.W/Austin/Witten with Bennett and Hurd filling in.

Of course, the pass may yet fall second fiddle to the running game as some here suggest and the less-potent Cowboy passing game is now more average.

But Isiah is history iffin you ax me.

he's already been here one year too long
What on earth?

I'm glad we didn't cut Miles Austin after his second year when he looked like crap. You actually have to give developmental receivers time to, you know, develop.

4.58 is not blazing.

Where is Hos?

Check out the video of Felix Jones against the Eagles, on the kick-off return he flies to where Felix is at check it out....:star:

He gets this year and I'm sure they'll reevaluate at the end of the year. Hopefully we can get some return on him.

you guys are all stupid.. anyone who thinks he is slow, doesn't pay attention when the ball is snapped and go straight to find an official 40 time.
and 40 isn't the end all be all representing speed.

that said, this has allways been stanbeck's year, we knew his rookie season was a wash cause of the lis frank injury, and he needed atleast 1 full season learning to be a WR in our system. this is his year, the coaches are big on him, and they have literally seen like 5 times as much of him as anyone here.. obviously this year is make or break, if he does nothing at all, he is gone, but the last 2 really have no effect in the decision im sure the coaches planned this to be the year.
im sure he did aswell, thats why they took any injury carefully. just make sure he is ready for his time.

I hope you're right. I do like his potential.

Actually, if the truth be told all of us calling him slow are mocking a former member who said that about him. That former member was a complete moron who saw a projected 40 time for him of 4.58 and could not accept anything other than that projected time as evidence of whether he was fast or not. We know he is fast. One of the fastest guys on this team. We just enjoy mocking the real stupid people.

Just cut this guy already he's going to break a nail in TC and sit on IR all year anyways :bang2:

I think he may have chronic shoulder problem(s).

I thought they said last year that his shoulder could pop out any time, even after surgery.

It was something to that effect. I don't think there's much he can do about it.

I just don't see him remaining healthy, unfortunately.

He was the only one on the field able to run with Felix on his kick return against the Eagles, that is not slow.

That's the plan -- unless he really looks like crap in TC and the preseason.
