OXNARD, Calif. — Zack Martin can’t seem to shake the link between him and Johnny Manziel. And probably never will.

Just look at the stir Jerry Jones created Sunday when he said in a TV interview that the Cowboys were “close” to drafting Manziel instead of Martin, a guard from Notre Dame, with the 16th overall pick in this year’s draft.
Fans were even kind enough to remind Martin about it as he signed autographs after practice, with one fan shouting: “I always wanted you over Johnny Football!”

Martin simply smiles and laughs.

“Man, it’s whatever,” Martin said. “I don’t really mind it. I just kind of roll with it.”

But what Martin does take seriously is his job and proving he deserved his selection spot. So far, so good early on in camp for Martin, who has impressed coaches and teammates alike with his approach and play...

So far, so good with all the reports on Zack Martin. Im not a Jerry Jones supporter, but do feel he made the right choice by picking Martin over Manziel. :D

They drafted Martin in spite of jerry.

I'd be willing to bet when Manziel was still available .........jerry was wettin' himself. It completely changed the dynamic of the war room.

oh yeah..

Manziel is already being labeled a Party Boy and a distraction.

Which he is.

Troy Aikman or Roger Staubach he isn't.

And probably isn't and never will be.

What I wonder is if the Cleveland coaches are really capable of building a defense as well as an offense.

They are sort of like us..

we have pieces but we are not a team that plays together like you must have to for 4 Qt. in all phases in order to win.

So we'll see.

I see Manziel as another splitting image of Tony Romo.

Expect big plays he improvises..

and big mistakes that bring the house down on him..
