Star-Telegram:Romo should have taken blame of bad play

I honestly didn't think Austin ran the wrong route when I watched it and re-watched the play. Plus, I didn't think the throw would've been a good throw had Austin ran the supposed route he was supposed to run.

However, it would be nice if Galloway would at least give some type of idea who the source was in regards to their title like a 'scout' or a 'coach', etc....instead of saying 'somebody who is paid to know.' Truth be told, a local beat writer is paid to know, but I would take a coach's word over a beat writer's word. But the reader has no idea if it was a coach or a beat writer or a TV analyst, etc.

If this is true...and again, when I saw it I thought Austin made the right read and Romo did not...it sort of goes with what I think is the problem with this team and it's not the talent (although the talent at QB has regressed quite a bit). We've got a guy like Bobby Carpenter out there playing in the nickel packages and he shouldn't be on the field, especially when Brooking is the better player who only plays 2 downs. Just a team with very little consequences for poor play and/or constant mistakes.

While I'm not the biggest fan of Mike Tomlin's coaching, I thought it was interesting to see him threaten to possibly cut Rashard Mendenhall for his constant struggles. And after a good game against SD last week, Tomlin responded that he only did it for one game and basically that Mendenhall was not off the hook.

It's silly and stupid to come down hard on players after a small spell of bad play or a having a costly mistake or two, but when it's a consistent act of poor play and mistakes, the hammer should be throw down.

We don't have the hammer in Dallas. And that's why we continue to fail to meet expectations.

I'm not sure why the media needs the players to come out publicly and say they screwed up. .....

Because it makes them feel better about themselves.
I basically don't belive 70% of this article. You can take any set of circumstances and make it fit your agenda. So, because Miles supposedly wasn't skipping up to the reporters, he insinuates (s) that Miles was mad that he was blamed for the play and Tony should have admitted it was his fault.

Randy is probably drinking too much again, why not list your source - he's as bad as Ed Werder.

:bang2:

You can't do that.

You do that and you have no sources. You have to have good sources if you're a reporter especially (and a columnist to a lesser degree). You have to protect them.

Without sources, there's no Watergate. There's no anything-gate.

Granted, this is small beans compared to stuff going on in Washington D.C., but it holds true.

I am sorry, but if Galloway doesnt have the balls to name his sources, then what he is saying is pure BS. .

No, THAT is pure BS. No journalist will ever name his/her source unless given permission and if it wasn't for those sources, nothing would ever get out.

Now, what's on Galloway's shoulders is the fact that he has to determine if that source has credibility in HIS eyes and if it does, then he has the obligation of report it. That's what he gets paid for.

It's not too difficult to at least give a good guesstimate. IMO, this source may have been Ray Sherman, the receivers coach, or certainly within that group. I doubt if it was a scout because he said that the source was infuriated that he spent all week hearing Miles getting blamed. Scouts don't spend the week in Dallas, they're on the road. Players don't get " paid to know " if Miles ran the wrong route, I doubt very much if it was a front office guy, so that leaves the coaches.

This is why Romo and the organization concerns me. They are not alligned and waiting for the season to end.

Romo is too inconsistent to be a top level qb. As much as I love him as our QB, he does give me close to a heart attack with his play.

If he truly is a leader, Tony should have manned up and admited it was his error. He cannot allow a fellow player to take unfair criticism.

It doesnt matter other than shows Romo continues to struggle.

how does a reciever running the wrong route show the Romo is struggling? he didn't struggle today...

also, I'll believe Romo and Austin before I'll believe anyone in the media.

if it wasn't Romo's fault, why should he admit to it?

Let's see, the media wants to create a rift between Romo and Austin. Then the two of them go out and connect on 10 passes for 250 record setting yards and 2 TDs (could've been 4 TDs). Way to tell the media to kiss your ***** Romo and Austin.
