Most people have no idea that each "server" in most large MMORPGs are actually clusters of multiple servers rather than one single server. Now if they already have 50 servers installed and tested, I could see that and you would have to believe they already have a lot of servers ready to go for public launch.
However, that being said, Bioware has already come out and stated they will add servers conservatively because they do not want to add too many servers and be forced to prematurely merge low population servers soon after launch. The initial rush and demand will not be an accurate way to calculate how many servers you need since everyone will be trying to login and play at the same time. It's like if everyone went to the store and bought one bottle of Coke .. most of the people would not find a Coke waiting on them when they got there simply because the stores stock them based on normal average demand, not surge/rush demand.
I suspect you will see a lot more servers go live by tomorrow's public launch but I doubt very seriously it will be enough to remove the login queues. They will likely reassess their population and server demand each day after launch for the first couple of weeks and add servers as needed.

Who said these clusters weren't prepared earlier and yet only opening them up to use now?
