Star Wars vs Lord of the Rings

Source material, it’s LOTR all the way. The Hobbit movies were an abomination though. Unforgivable.

Those Lord of The Rings movies annoyed me BIG TIME!!! Just a bunch of walking and I wanted to see those annoying Hobbits wiped out!!! .All the scraggley hair and high pitch voices remind me of annoying type dogs like those "Benji" type movies. Some cute scruffy little poochie.MAN I WANTED THEM TO DIE!!!!


So who are you with and why???

It's a tough call for me too.

I don't think the Hobbit would've been as good had it came out the same time Star Wars did.

I don't know.. I like the characters more in Star Wars but I like The Lord of the Rings story more if that makes sense.

I have to be in a mood to watch Star Wars. I could watch TLOTR once a week if I had to.


Game Of Thrones smashes both though. It's not a movie but it's on the same epicness scale IMO.

Agree 100% except when get to Game of Thrones. Ha! I’m one of the only people on the planet who hasn’t seen a single episode.

You have to watch it. It's the best story ever.

The journey with that show has been so fun. It's the only show that I've ever watched where im glad I didn't binge watch it.

The weekly discussions and trying to figure out whats going to happen next has been a blast. I'll be sad to see it go.

As for the Lord of the Rings. I like the first two books, but I've never really been a fan of the third book / movie. My favorite is the Two Towers though. That was easily the best for me.

I will go with the Jedi, that mind manipulation skill means even eagle fans can be taught to see sense.

Although both enemies are awful and come from the Elmer J. Fudd school of shooting and aiming....

I thought the first 2 Hobbit movies were good, but the 3rd was indeed a complete abomination. There was not much story left for a 3rd movie and then they tried to draw it out extra long.

The Simarillian, The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings are simply the greatest fantasy books ever written.
Now the LOTR and Hobbit movies are an abomination.
