Starters needs to get about three series worth of drives in the first quarter to get them ready for contact and game speed.
For goodness sake someone make sure Jerry gets this memoStarters needs to get about three series worth of drives in the first quarter to get them ready for contact and game speed.
I actually always thought, why not play the starters in the 4th quarter of the last preseason game. At that point the game, closer to the regular season, they'll be going against practice squad type players so they should dominate. That's always been my thoughtIf I were the coach I'd play my starters a lot in the first preseason game. Because if there are any injuries those guys will have a month to heal. You play your starters this late into the preseason and a high ankle sprain or a hamstring could effect a regular season game.
Just food for thought.
They have had live practices against two teams, where mainly the starters played. Need to evaluate the bottom of the roster in the games.Starters needs to get about three series worth of drives in the first quarter to get them ready for contact and game speed.

Disagree. None of our starters needs to practice getting hit or tackled beyond what happens at practice. These are starters that are well aware of what game speed looks like. They don't need a reminder.Starters needs to get about three series worth of drives in the first quarter to get them ready for contact and game speed.

I disagree. Playing starters- especially QB and other skill positions players- is a risk not worth taking IMO.Starters needs to get about three series worth of drives in the first quarter to get them ready for contact and game speed.
