Starting a Non-Profit

So, I'm thinking about beginning a non-profit. Many of you can probably guess what for. Anyway, what are some ideas and tips some of you may have? I'm new to this and my research just began today. It's something I really want to do though and the issues I'd tackle would be of importance to many people.

Board of Directors, Connections, Networking, Media, Word of Mouth, then the real work begins! It takes a lot of work but is worth it, I am the treasure for a non-profit (Operation Ward57) take your time even though you probably want to jump in, find a non-profit that you can work with and learn from

What are the first steps to applying? And what would you suggest?

I'm still trying to narrow down my focus. Fortunately, I've met many great people along the way. I have access to attorneys, politicians, etc. All are on my side.

I have many questions. I just don't know where to begin. But I guess I'll need to narrow down my focus.
