News: Starting Cornerback Opposite Trevon Diggs

- What we saw in 2021 last year with the starting lineup is probably likely what we are gonna get in 2022.
Without observing what dynamics changes this summer, i think Brown is gonna be our starter opposite Diggs in 2022, .
.then comes the depth and whomever has the better camp- and to which inside and outside role.

- i cannot see the tall, leggy Nashon Wright being a candidate for the slot CB, so it remains to be seen if he can challenge Brown for a starting role outside.
Prior to this horrific offseason incident with Joseph, indications were that the club would've strongly prefer Joseph, seize the starting role.

- Of course KJ at this point is pressing forward professionally, but I'm no longer ready to rely on him, who knows if there is an eventual legal action and suspension
coming at KJ,.I'm much for getting ready for Plan B options. And hopefully it's Nashon Wright.

- Brown is decent- serviceable at best, he's reached his potential and limit, and we need more at that starting role. Some may not like to hear this, but i've always thought he
was a better slot coverage CB than Jourdan Lewis.

I wouldn't compare it to Zeke. Zeke had an accuser. The league decided to side with the accuser. At this point in time, what is Joseph being accused of?

Like I said before, I can't wait to hear the reason. I've never heard of anyone getting suspended for poor judgement. But anything is possible. It's just not in any way comparable to Zeke. Where there was a clear accuser and accusation.

I wouldn't think they have to wait for the legal side to play out to figure out if there's any discipline if Joseph wasn't charged.

But it's Roger's world. He makes up the rules as he goes, depending on what will make him look best at the time.

Well it's wrapped up from how it includes Joseph.

But when is Roger gonna weigh in? I guess the team is updated on this type of stuff. Just guessing.

Any delay just makes it seem like they won't suspend him.

They really shouldn't, but again it's about what makes Roger look the best that he can at the moment.

Going into TC, it is Brown's job to keep.
He is another one of the players, that gets undeservingly ragged on.

When Deion was on one side, and Kevin Smith was on the other side, as he was an under rated player being opposite Deion. Then Smith tears an achilles. Larry Brown took over for Smith.
Even Deion said Brown was a lot better than many gave him credit for.

I kind of see the same type of thing now.
However, I am pulling for Joseph as well and Wright to step up and give some great competition. As to whoever gets the starting slot, it means there is some very good depth. And don't forget about Lewis.

Smith tore his achilles week one of the 95 season. Deion didn't sign until week nine. It's more like Sanders took over for Smith rather than Brown taking over for Smith.

Sanders never played with pre-achilles Smith and when they were on the field together from 96-99 Smith was only a shell of his former self. Any first hand comparison Deion offered of Pup was a valuation of damaged goods.

Neither Kelvin Joseph nor Wright are in the same zip code as a healthy Kevin Smith. Smith was a top 10 CB in the league before he got hurt.

He'll get something. It will be anywhere between 6 games to a year. I'm leaning more towards 6 games. But if the NFL is consistent, he'd be suspended for a minimum of a year. Not suspending him at all would make a mockery of the process.

Im hoping for a non suspension, Watson does not play in our division..lol
A non suspension would be a sweet mockery of the process and be even more proof as to why this Commish should be removed.

IMHO, it doesn’t matter. As long as they have their own set of “detrimental conduct” guidelines, they’ll utilize them to serve the wishes of the core—Mara, Rooney, Kraft, that guy that owns the Rams, and a few others.

I agree with you. Yet he was accused of something. He was suspended for that something. If you're going to suspend someone, there's a reason attached to it. Zeke's was DV. What would be the reason to suspend Joseph? What wrongdoing is he being accused of?

I'm not saying he won't be suspended, I'm sure they can think of something. I just don't see it at the moment. I'm very interested to see what they do in his case.

I hope that you are right, Quinn could utilize a young athletic DB with high ceiling in his defensive rebuild.

AB was more solid than Diggs at certain times imo last season, and #30 had a really good season. AB is the starter opposite Diggs, and Joseph has too much going on off the field to do anything about it.

KJ will start outside, if he isn't suspended. He has something the others do not, speed. I think it is Diggs, KJ, Brown (slot) with Lewis and Wright as #4and5. Pretty good group.

They have a decent amount of playable CB's, basically the same crew as last year. Especially if Wright improves, im not too concerned about a possible Joseph suspension. I think Joseph wins the #2 spot in camp, but I think we are ok (not good, but ok) if he has to miss time

I think the real problem with a possible suspension is it makes Brown and Lewis untradable. They could have been assets deep in camp when teams start losing guys. But we rarely make that move anyways
